Duplicates in the Usages

Jan 30, 2011 at 2:08 PM

Hello Immo,

I have observed duplicates in the Usages section of the documentation.

You can very that in the WiX sample output you posted, the WiX.chm:
1. From the TOC navigate to the Simple Types in the http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi Namespace (second).
2. Click on the simple types, most including the first show duplication. The first looks like

(-) Usages

(Icon) Id (Icon) Id (Icon) Id

May be the only way to show the difference is to prepend the parent elements like...

 (Icon) Package/Id (Icon) Patch/Id (Icon) Product/Id

Best regards,
Paul.

Yes, I know. It is even listed in the Todo.txt :-)

Conceptually, just prepending the parent element is still an issue because the combination might not be unique as well. However, it is probably relatively easy to create an algorithm that does that. Next time I fix the tool I will definitely have a look.

Thanks for reminding me! :-)

Hello Immo,

Thanks for the reply. Missed the TODO list, sorry. Thanks for reminding me :)

Any plan soon? I am currently looking into it. I can wait, if coming soon.

Best regards,
Paul.
